Biography of Mr. Yaqub Ali Mosawi – Procurement Director of Ministry of Transport

Mr. Mosawi has Master Degree in law from a credible private university of Afghanistan. He has a diploma in English language literature and completed many short courses on procurement field. Such as; Certificate in Public Procurement (CPP) and CIP….

He has hold several procurement workshops for government employees during his working with ministries and world bank.

He has over 13 years of experience in procurement field and contracting management. His overseas working experience in procurement stared back in the 2007 with ministry of education, funded project by DANIDA. In 2010 joined the World Bank (WB) at SRF project in Central Statistics Organization (CSO). He then moved to AJSDP/World Bank Project in Ministry of Justice. And later on in 2016 start working as Procurement Legal Specialist/ARC Expert/Head of Legal Department with National Procurement Authority/Administrative Office of the President.

Mr. Mosawi joined Ministry of Transport since November 2018 as Procurement Director. He is responsible for all public procurement, procurement reform and contract management including ordinary budget & development budgets.

He has extensive experience as a resource speaker for various seminars, training and workshops on public procurement.

He also participated in various procurement training inside and outside of Afghanistan such as; International Training Programme on Procurement Procedures for the World Bank Aided Projects arranged by Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), develop the skills and abilities of the procurement staff of the Afghan Government’s ministries and exposure mission to Dushanbe, Tajikistan and e-procurement system in Ukrain.

Apart from this, he has done several researches on burn topic of the days which is published in credible national magazines like; Justice Magazine-MoJ. In addition, he has been thought legal subjects with private universities.
