Biography of Mr. Mohammad Hamid Tahmasi, the Transport Minister

Mohammad Hamid Tahmasi was born in 1975 in Ghazni province. He started his under graduate studies at Kabul University, Law faculty in 2001. His graduation in 2005 was coincident with the emerging of a new era in the country. He started his career as a prosecutor at one of the related departments of attorney general’s office. Working as a prosecutor made Mr. Tahmasi familiar with the weakness and strength of judicial system of Afghanistan and based his final steps to improvement and success. Eagerness to learn and capacity building is one the significant characteristics of Mr. Tahmasi, therefore along with his official duties, he lectured on law subjects at various universities including Bakhtar, Mashaal, and UMF Swiss university. During 2007 to 2008, Mr. Tahmasi has worked as the head of human rights office in Deputy UN Delegation’s office for Afghanistan. Legal knowledge and awareness of local governance are two significant prerequisites of a decision maker authority. Working in the position of legal advisor of Independent Directorate of Local Governance proved that Mr. Tahmasi owns the mentioned prerequisites in the best way possible. Considering the nowadays needs and abundant interest to gain knowledge, at the very first educational opportunity that Mr. Tahmasi found in 2013, he continued his graduate studies on Law.
