Background:

The Ministry of Transport (MoT) is responsible for the planning, monitoring, maintenance and development of the various transport infrastructure projects such as Roads, Bridges, Culverts, Railway and Airport in the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Therefore, to enhance the capacity to strengthen its ability to deliver effective, efficient and transparent services in MoT the Human Resource Directorate wishes to recruit the following staff on contract basis from development Budget for the Ministry of Transport.

Job summary

We are looking for skilled junior developers to join our MIS team. You as a part of development team will be responsible for coding, maintaining, and improving or extending our existing MIS system. The successful candidate should be able to build high-quality, fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design.

The ideal candidate will also have an analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail. The goal is to write “clean” and flawless code to produce fully functional software applications according to ministry’ requirements. If you’re passionate about building software and perform well working in a team, along with developers, engineers and web designers, we would like to meet you.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Produce fully functional programs writing clean, testable, and reusable code for future use
• Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
• Validate and approve changes by testing programs
• Perform periodical tests, debugging and upgrades to maximize program efficiency and security
• Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines with development team
• Create technical documentation for user support
• Provide training and support to internal teams and ministry employees
• Any other tasks assigned by supervisor

Skills:

• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming
• Proven work experience as web programmer or developer
• Understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
• Knowledge of software and application design and architecture
• Knowledge of UML and other modeling methods
• Good knowledge of web technologies, especially with PHP and HTML/CSS/JS, MVC frameworks (Laravel and Angular)
• Knowledge with relational databases, SQL language and ORM technologies
• Demonstrable ability to discover and fix errors in code
• A team player with excellent communication skills
• Great attention to details
• Good analytical, problem solving and time management skills
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques
• Ability to document requirements and specifications

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/information technology
• Having master degree 2 years working experience.
• At least 4 years of working experience in the related field.

Required Documents:

• Copy of verified Bachelor Degree by Ministry of Higher Education.
• Copy of verified Master degree by Ministry of Higher Education.
• Copy of verified Afghan ID Card (Tazkera).
• Copy of verified last Posting Contract.
• Certificate’s and Appreciation Letter’s.
